Marianne's Response
landt316’s Question
My established blueberries have been taken over by my red raspberries. I have created a new separate bed to move my blueberries to. When is the best time to do this? I would also love any tips you may have on the best method for digging them up. Also is it ok to cut them back or prune them when I move them?
Thank you

Blueberries can be moved in the fall, winter or early spring. Water well the night before. Dig a very wide hole (twice as wide as the root ball) and add a wheelbarrow load or half bale of peat moss. Blueberries love peat moss. Make sure the peat moss is damp. Then replant the blueberries into this hole and mulch with wood chips. Keep soil moist at all times and feed in late spring with rhodie and azalea food. They will love the new spot and I see blueberry pie in your future......or maybe berry filled muffins. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
