The decision to water this summer is up to you. If you stop watering in July and August your lawn will not die if you live in Western Washington. It will turn brown or "golden" from lack of moisture but once the rains return in late September it will green up again. A brown lawn is more acceptable now than a decade ago as citizens realize the water saving and money saving benefits of a summer dormant lawn. There are free classes and information from local water districts on how to replace your lawn with a more drought resistant landscape if looking at a dormant lawn is not acceptable.
