Leaf Miners?
I saw your answer regarding the spinach being taken over with Leaf Miners. My looks the same (please advise if you think otherwise). However, will the suggestion to cover seedlings work for existing plants, or are the ones I have doomed?

Yes it does look like leaf minor damage and covering the plants with an agricultural fleece (Reemay)will keep out future insects but will not kill the minors already living in the leaf tissue. I suggest you pick and destroy all damaged leaves, cover the crop and wait for healthy new growth. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
