Freezing and canning vegetables from a small garden

I have a small garden, but would like to freeze and can what I do get from it. How do I keep the few vegetables that I pick occasionally until I have enough to can or freeze?

Congratulations on your growing success. I suggest you freeze the produce as you harvest at the peak of ripeness. Just keep adding new produce to a Ziplock plastic bag until you have enough for a meal. You can also harvest herbs. Cut them into tiny bits and place them in an ice cube tray. Add water and freeze for mini portions of herbs to add to your cooking. I am not an expert on canning so perhaps you should consult your local extension service about the art and safety of canning fruits and vegetables. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
