You can collect seed from flowering plants or veggies that you allow to bloom by letting them dry on a flat surface indoors for a couple of weeks. Then store inside paper envelopes stored inside glass jars. This keeps the seeds dry over the winter. But all seeds will not be worth saving - especially those of vegetables that are hybrids as the seeds will not be true to the parent plants. It is fun to experiment anyway.
