If you are asking when to plant roses, the answer is that most roses are easiest to plant in early spring when the ground is not frozen. Roses that are growing in containers in the nursery can be planted almost any time of year. It is the bare root roses wrapped in plastic bags with no soil around their roots that need to get into the ground quickly before their leaves open up. The hybrid tea roses are most often sold bare root and so are most often planting in February or March. The shrub or landscape roses are more likely to be sold in large plastic pots and they can be added anytime from March until June for best results. Roses are hungry plants so be sure to add a slow release plant food such as Osmocote to the planting soil that has been improved with compost. Roses also do best in full sun with added water in the summer before the soil dries out. Good air circulation keeps them free of disease so don\'t crowd your roses.
