How to choose the best blueberry bush for your zone
I live in the suburbs of Chicago and am trying to decide which blueberry bush to purchase. The Jelly Bean and Peach Sorbet both look beautiful and seem to produce delicious blueberries. I plan to plant the blueberry bush in my with vegetables and leave it outside all year round. Can you suggest which one I should select or give me the pros and cons on each one? Thank you very much!

The key to growing any plant in your cold winter area is to check the plant tags at the nursery and read in what zone the plants will survive. Your local nursery will carry plants specific for your hardiness zone so buying local is also a good way to get the best plants for your area. I have heard good things about both those varieties so if you find them at a local nursery buy one of each. Blueberries do best when there are more than one plant. Another tip is to add plenty of peat moss to the soil at planting time. This will make the soil more acid which blue berries love and also help the soil hold moisture. Never let your blue berry plants dry out. I see a lot of blue berry muffins in your future.
Keep growing,
