Manure and boxwood shrubs
I have boxwood shrubs to plant. I have had the whole garden plot rototiled and amended with peat moss, mulch, and compost. There is manure in one of the mixes. Should I worry about this mixture touching the root ball? I seem to remember something about not letting manure touch the plant directly. Thank you for any help you can give me. Lucy Keres

No worries, the boxwood should love the soil. Potatoes do not like manure in the soil and too much manure can hold moisture that would bother some plants, but boxwood shrubs are adaptable. May you have a wonderful boxwood hedge soon. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
