Marianne's Response

You have stumped me on this question. There are so many spring bloomers with red flowers that I need some more information. Where do you live? Does the mystery shrub have leaves that stay all winter? Are the blooms small or large? Can you send a photo? In my area of the Pacific Northwest I would guess red azaleas as the most common low growing shrub that flowers in late spring. In warm winter climates the answer could be the shrub form of bougainvillea. Looking forward to hearing from you with more information. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
