Marianne's Response

Lupine

My lupines have just started blooming and suddenly some of the smaller flowers are bending down? Why? Should the flowers be staked?

Marianne's Response

Lupines and other tall bloomers may need to be staked especially if there is rain or wind. A tomato cage helps or you can surround the plant with three stakes and use string to make an enclosure. Many garden centers also sell steel or metal stakes made with extending arms to encircle floppy plants. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
