Hi, Marianne! I’m interested in planting peonies. When’s the best time of year to do so? Any other tips for this beauty?

You can plant peonies purchased in pots anytime the ground is not frozen - or order the roots or bulbs and plant in fall or early spring. Just don't plant them too deep - the eye or growth bud should be just below the surface of the soil. Also peonies hate to be transplanted but if you have to move a plant do it in the fall.
