I am planning a trip to Italy the first couple of weeks of October. I am with avid gardeners and we would like to know what gardens you might recommend we visit. Our the gardens lovely at that time of year or a we a bit late? But, not to late for the grape harvesting!!

Head for the lakes district and the garden near Strasa and Bellagio. All the great estates had wonderful gardens but if you google gardens near Milan you will be most impressed. There are also some gardens near Bari and in the Tuscany area. I can't wait to get back but right now I am visiting gardens in New Zealand with a group we are leading. It is spring over here!
