Maypop is the common name for the Passion Vine or Passiflora. The flowers are complex with 10 outer petals surrounding a ruff of smaller petals and 5 stamens in colors of pale lavender and purple. These are tropical vines that bloom in warm weather. There are many varieties but all should be planted indoors in the spring so the seeds can sprout and the new vine can get a good start before it goes outdoors for the summer.
