How to make cardboard decompose faster
I am beginning my first raised vegetable garden. I have picked out a great sunny spot for it. I’ve put down cardboard inside the bed over the grass to kill the grass. My question is: Is there anything I can put on top of the cardboard to hasten the decomposition of the cardboard? I am to get my soil delivered next week. I’m just wondering if there was something that would do that?? Any help is appreciated.
Kindest regards, Linda

Sounds like you are off to a good start with raised bed and having soil delivered. Make sure the cardboard is very wet and lay down a few inches of manure or compost before you add the soil. The critters that will decompose the cardboard will be in the compost/manure more than just topsoil. By next spring the cardboard will be gone. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
