Where are the roots on an Aquilegia?
I have purchased an aquilegia mix. I can’t tell which is the root side. Is it the side with the little white sprouts coming out? I don’t want to plant them upside down. Thanks so much.

No worries, when in doubt just plant the thing sideways. The white sprouts may not be the roots as the leaves may look white if they have been in darkness. Seeing white sprouts is a good sign as you know your aquilegia or columbines are ready to grow. I see beautiful blooms in your future. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
