Well rotted chicken manure is great for your soil but it is often high in nitrogen so spread it in a thin layer - less than half an inch and then rake or hoe it into the soil. Do not let it fall onto foliage and do not use around tender new seedlings as it could burn the foliage with too much nitrogen. Some gardeners like to use chicken manure in the compost pile as it will speed up decomposition. Then the compost can go onto the garden. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
