What to plant with forsythia
I live in Auburn WA and have been enjoying all the bright yellow shrubs in bloom. Found out they were forsythia and bought two of them. What can I plant with them? I would like to find something that grows about the same height and some shorter options for in front.

I love forsythia planted with PJM rhododendrons as the bright purple blooms of this sun and cold resistant rhodie open as the same time as the forsythia. There is also several early flowering viburnums that bloom in March. Look for Viburnum tinus. Don't forget to add some daffodil bulbs and hellebores near to complete the early spring display.
