Marianne's Response

Mimosa Tree Rebirth

I had a beautiful mimosa tree and it became diseased about a year ago from root rot. The tree was three years old. The small stump has been dormant, but this Spring, I have a small healthy tree sprouting from the stump. Will it survive?

Marianne's Response

Yes, I believe it will.  Plants are amazing and I predict your tree managed to find some healthy soil and is making a valiant effort to regrow. Do not fertilize or add extra water at this time. In summer feel the soil and water when the top six inches dry. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
