You are the owner of one of my favorite houseplants. It is called Sansevieria or snake plant or mother-in-laws tongue. This drought resistant plant is great at cleaning the air of indoor pollutants and does not require a window so can survive in office and many homes. Just don't overwater. Poke a finger into the soil and water  when the top one inch of soil is dry. Usually once every 10 days or 2 weeks.   Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
