Mountain Hemlocks
I have have 8 Mountain Hemlocks….all planted at the same time about 7 years ago. They have been doing extremely well until now. I’m noticing die-off at the tips of branches…..does this have to do with our recent hot weather? What can I do to help these trees? They’re so beautiful and the mainstay of my Washington native plant garden….

Yes, hemlocks did not like our recent heat dome in the PNW and to survive many plants stopped providing moisture to the newest growth. The trees should be fine now that the weather is less intense and they will just have less new growth this year. They are indeed lovely, graceful native trees. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
