mulch
in the late fall i put straw around all my plants and bushes but i”m not sure when to remove it and is there anything i can do with it.also i dont know my last frost day in Milton/Rochester N.H.

That old straw you put down for winter protection can be left in place or worked into the soil. If the look of old straw is just too messy for you rake it up and store it in a pile so it can break down this summer. In fall is should be well rotted and you can shovel it around your plants again. Your last frost date should be May 20 - give or take a week or two. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
