mw0320sw’s Question
I contacted you about my christmas cactus. You indicated that I shouldn’t water it for a couple of months. When I am gone for three months should I just let it sit or have it watered? It’s been in the same pot for about 50 years and is very root bound. Will keep in the same container and see how it goes.

Many gardeners do not water their jade plant or Christmas cacti during the 3 winter months - but it depends on the temp of the room and the amount of sunlight to determine if the plant is going dormant in the winter. To be safe I would say give it half a cup of water every 2 months from Nov to Feb. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
