Marianne's Response

Name of plant

I have been to a couple of nurseries in the area and no one can tell me the name of this plant. The plant has beautiful fall foliage. It is not a burn8ng bush I do know that.

I am not confident that my answer is correct but my best guess is a native plant known as a Black Huckleberry (Vaccinium membranaceum) which is an unusual shrubby native that turns red to purple in the fall. Do you notice any fall berries? They can be quickly eaten by birds so watch closely as the flowers change into fruit. I suggest you take a branch to a native plant nursery where a more qualified expert can confirm my guess. Thanks for sharing and Keep Growing, Marianne Binetti
