Name that plant (please)
I read an article you wrote in the TNT a long time ago, about a plant you used as a cat repellant to keep your cat from getting hair all over your chais lounge. You called it “the cousin of the coleus”. Unfortunately thats all I remember, I’ve asked 15 – 20 nursery people what plant it might be & none had any idea, most asked me if I find it to let them know cuz thev’d be very interested carrying it. So please, could you remind me what plant it is. Thanks for your time & help.

There is a plant called coleus canina that smells like dog urine and keeps 70% of cats away but it is not an easy to find plant. You can also use lavender plants or lavender spray or cut some rue (an herb with gray foliage) and lay this on outdoor furniture. Some pet owners say crumpled foil on furniture will keep cats from visiting or you can train your cat with a spray bottle of water not to jump up on furniture. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
