Marianne's Response

New Blackberry Bushes

Recently planted 3 2 year old blackberry bushes in direct sun 3 feet apart. Fertilized, straw around the base of the plants, and watered daily when we haven’t gotten rain. Here’s the problem they are droopy. Is there something I could do that would help them look more healthy?

Patience.  This wilting could be just transplant shock a the berry bushes recover from the trauma of being transplanted. This is why it is often easier to move or add berry plants to the garden when they are dormant or still leafless from winter. It sounds like you have done everything possible to keep them hydrated so I am going to predict the wilting will subside in a couple more days. Just keep the soil moist and wait it our.
