Marianne's Response
Orchids
I have orchid roots growing higher than the plant. What do I do?

Marianne's Response
Don't worry this is the normal growth habit of a potted orchid. This tropical plant actually likes to be rootbound and sends up aerial roots looking for a tree trunk to latch onto. This is not always a sign that your orchid needs repotting. If it is growing fine and blooming do not disturb the wayward roots. When it is done blooming you can consider cutting the wild roots back at the base. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
