Orchids like to grow in small pots and the biggest mistake owners make it to water too much. One tip to control your urge to water is every Sunday place two ice cubes on top of the growing medium. Orchids grow in bark not soil. This way you water just a bit once a week. The plant would much prefer you use lukewarm water and to bring it to the sink and let water run through the growing medium one a week but sometimes we love our orchids so much we can't resist giving them just a bit more water and the ice cube method helps to control this urge.  Misting is good, do not let the plant sit in drainage water, give it bright but indirect sunlight and no need to fertilize if the plant is in bloom now. Enjoy! Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
