Organic seeds
I want to start my organic seeds indoor without lights. I have organic seed mix and organic seeds. We are a group of housewifes who hate organic veggie prices and small varities. Im also wondering if companies give seed samples.

Is your question about if you can be successful growing seeds indoors without lights? If so, then yes you can start seeds indoors if you have a bright window such as one that faces south or west. Some seedlings such as tomatoes and pepper really crave sunlight so they will stretch for the sun and should not be planted too early. The seeds that will be easiest to start are the leafy greens such as spinach, lettuce, kale and salad greens. These will adapt to less light. If you are looking to save money then veggies such as cherry or patio tomatoes, zucchini, salad greens, kale, spinach, squash and cucumbers give the biggest yields for the least amount of space. You can also try potatoes if you have a lot of room but keep in mind that some veggies are inexpensive so t makes sense to buy them in bulk at the grocery store. Growing berries is also a good money saver if you live in an area where they are easy to grow. To get free seed samples I would suggest you contact seed companies in your area and ask about their seed packets that are left over from past seasons. Sometimes they donate these rather than tossing them out. Old seeds may not germinate at as high of a percentage as fresh seed but those seeds that do sprout are perfectly good. Good luck with your new adventure, and get those kids involved. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
