Marianne's Response
Osmocote
I represent the Toledo, Ohio, Rose Society. We are into our third year of doing a Children’s Miniature Rose Bush Planting Day. This year we are doing this event on Saturday, May 12th, the weekend of Mother’s Day. We will host this event with the cooperation of the Toledo Zoo, in which there is an all-day program for children to learn to enjoy plants, landscape, flowers, and all about things that grow. Greenheart Nursery in California has donated 96 miniature rose bushes for this Children’s Planting Day. We want the children to get their plants off to a correct start by teaching them the benefits of a slow release fertilizer — Osmocote. The children will not apply this fertilizer to their potted plant as we will send the Osmocote samples home with the parents to apply once the miniature bush is planted into their landscape. We would like to request 96 packets of Osmocote fertilizer from the Planters Place.
One more question — what do you suggest to control Japanese Beetles? Thank you so much!
