Osmocote plant food will be good for many years if kept dry and cool. It is a good plant food for fig trees and other edible plants as well as flowers and ornamentals. The slow release formula means the nutrients are released slowly over the season so the plants will be not be burned from a quick dose of plant food.  Just follow the dosage instructions on the label and work the granules into the top inch or so of soil around the roots of any plant. Give that fig tree lots of sun and a single dose of Osmocote and you can expect a great harvest. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
