I use Osmocote Plus (the bottle with the pink cap) on my tomatoes and get great results. The thing about plants is they take only the nutrients that they need and Osmocote Plus offers them a smorgasbord of nutrients but because it is a slow release plant food you will not burn the plants with too much fertilizer if you apply as the package recommends. I use one capful around each tomato plant. Tomatoes really need calcium in the soil and Osmocote Plus contains calcium along with many other micro and macro nutrients. We live on property with a well for water and I need to use slow release plant food that won't have excess nitrogen or other nutrients that wash into the water table.
