Overwintering Shasta Daisy, potted, in Zone 6A
We have a “Whoops A Daisy” in a large pot. Can this we overwintered in our unheated garage? If so, should we add mulch to the top of the soil? Thanks, Diane

Good news for you. The new Shasta Daisy Whoops a Daisy is hardy in zones 5 to 7 so it should be fine left outdoors all winter. I do think you should add a wood chip mulch of at least two inches and move the container close to the house so it doesn't blow over. You can wait until spring to cut it back to a few inches tall as a late fall pruning can stimulate growth. Unless we have a very severe winter there should be no "whoops it died" for the Whoops a Daisy Shasta. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
