Yes! Peonies have thick, fleshy roots so give them a large pot at least 10 gallons and make sure there are plenty of drainage holes and that you use professional potting soil. Do not plant too deep (number one reason peonies will not bloom) and keep soil on the dry side but make sure the plant gets 5 to 6 hours of sunshine - preferably protection from sun during the hottest part of the day. To avoid fungal leaf infections from your high humidity cut back the all foliage and stem in the fall once the leaves turn yellow. Place a fresh mulch of wood chips on top of the soil to keep any fungal spores from splashing up from the soil. Fertilize every spring with a slow release plant food such as Osmocote Plus. You will have lovely peonies. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
