Marianne's Response

Perennials

Marianne, I have a light post in the front of my house which gets lots of bright sun, and would like to plant some perennials. For several years, I have been planting annuals for the summer. I like planting annuals for the color, but because of my age, I want to plant some plants that will require low or no maintenance, and of course some color would be nice. What are your suggestions? Thanks!!!

What a great idea - how about a classic arrangement of fall color from Sedum 'Autumn Joy' late spring color from peonies, summer color from cranesbill geraniums and dwarf Stella d'Oro daylilies and in the fall add early spring crocus and dwarf daffodil bulbs. All of these can go years without the need for dividing and are more drought resistant than annuals. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
