You can spray the weeds with Roundup but any tiny drops that drift onto your vegetables will kill them as well. You can try covering the veggie plants with sheets, buckets, tarps or cardboard tents to protect them from any spray but if may be safer to just get a mulch of wood chips, pull the weeds, lay down newspaper between the rows and pile on wood chips. Often weed outbreaks occur when compost is used that was not heated high enough when rotting to kill off the weed seeds.
