Marianne's Response

Plant is dying

I ireceived a house plant a few months ago that was thriving. all of a sudden parts of it started dying, so someone suggested I repot, I did and it doesn’t seem to help. The plant is withering and I don’t know what to do to help it. I am not great with plants anyway, but this shouldn’t be this hard.

I am not sure what type of plant you have but it does look like the plant in the photo is wilting most likely from lack of water. Plants in pots need to be kept moist but not overwatered. If you have the pot sitting in a saucer that collects water that could be the problem. Root rot is caused by too much water and poor drainage when a plant sits in a saucer of water. Both too much water (root rot) and lack of water causes the wilting I see in your plant.  It may take a few weeks for a newly repotted plant to perk up as long as you pay attention to the watering.
