Planting flower bulbs in Las Vegas Nv

I have tried unsessful to plant tulip bulbs or lillys they either dry up or rot how can I keep these bulbs so they flower every year

First you need to realize that tulips, daffodils and other traditional spring bulbs need a chilling period so in your climate placing them in a frig for 8 to 12 weeks helps them get the right amount of  chilling. Then pot up the bulbs in a potting soil and keep in a cool part of your garden until the flower. They do not like high winds and dry air. It may be more practical to purchase started bulbs in bud and already potted up from a garden center. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
