Is it bad to grow a garden up against a white wall

No - a white wall is great for plants that love heat and light as it reflects the sun. Just be sure if you live in a hot climate to chose plants that thrive in high heat situations. I do not know where you live but your local nursery will know what plants to recommend. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
