Best pruning method to encourage new growth in roses
Do you pinch off old rose petals or cut them off?

I recommend cutting back the stems of faded roses as this will encourage more new growth and more flowers. Also when you remove the entire rose head you prevent the energy from the rose plant from going into seed production from the old flower head. One more reason to cut back is to capture all those rose petals before they fall to the ground and attract earwigs or other pests. So go ahead and get snippy with your roses.
Keep growing,
