I tend to use the bagged potting soil sold by local nurseries under the nursery brand name. I like a potting soil that will not hold too much rain water in our damp climate so when I pick up a bag it should feel light weight with lots of perlite to add air to the soil. When Windmill or Watsons or another nursery has a sale I buy it. I have also had good luck using Miracle Grow potting soil. I just avoid soils that are really heavy or really inexpensive as that makes me wonder what they put into it.....Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
