Preserving Hydrangea Blooms

I have some gorgeous hydrangeas in my garden that I would like to dry for a Thanksgiving arrangement. Do I just cut them or do I need to do something to them so they keep their beautiful color?

The best way that I have found to dry hydrangea blooms is to cut them in the fall when the petals are papery and feeling dry then place them in a vase with just one inch of water. Do not add more water. In a few weeks after the water is gone the blooms will be dry enough to last for years. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
