Pruning Fatsia

Hi, I just pruned my Fatsia plant to remove the cluster of flowers. Now I’m wondering if I’ve ruined the plant. And what can I do to improve it’s appearance.

No worries, your fatsia is one tough plant so cut it back to a six inch stump for a fresh start or cut the tall stem down by two thirds for  less drastic makeover. If you live in a cold winter area wait until spring to do any drastic pruning just to be on the safe side. Heavy pruning stimulates new growth and freezing temps can damage new growth.
