Pruning Hardy Kiwi Vine
Hello Marianne, I have a new house that came with a ginormous hardy kiwi vine that is on a trellis and climbs up to our deck and is pulling the deck railing off. How hard can I prune it without killing it?

Just start cutting away - you will not kill a hard kiwi by pruning in the spring. Even if you cut it to the ground it will still send up new shoots. Established kiwi can damage roofs and other structures so it is a good idea to get it under control. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
