The easy answer is to stop pruning your hydrangeas and see if next summer they are full of blooms. The more complex answer is to determine what type of hydrangea you have and learn when best to prune. Most hydrangeas do great with little or no pruning. If the plants just grow too large for the space move them where they can spread out. There are some compact hydrangeas available if you have a small space but still want hydrangeas. It is best not to try and keep large mop head hydrangeas (Hydrangea macrophylla the most common type) small to fit in a space they just want to outgrow. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
