When and how to prune Ice Daphne
I have a Summer Ice Daphne that has gotten way too big and I don’t want to move it. How do I prune it and when is a good time. It’s more than twice the size that came with the tag.

Congrats on your green thumb - you must have a great smelling garden as daphne is very fragrant. You can prune right after the shrub blooms and remove up to one-third of the length of the branches. Do this on a cloudy day so the newly exposed foliage will not get sunburn. Prune by removing entire branches from the bottom if you want a tree form or by tip pruning each branch if you want a more bushy shrub. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
