Marianne's Response
Tough weeds
What I need to know is how to permanently get rid of Johnson grass from my garden. I have tried digging it up and I have also tried different weed killers and nothing seems to work. I have been fighting this problem for 5 years.

Marianne's Response
My sympathies - tough weeds call for tough action and the most effective way to deal with weeds with deep roots (that is why weed killers do not work) is to starve the roots by blocking all sunlight. Cover the area with cardboard and top with wood chips for 9 months. Without any green leaves the roots will die. Or you could move to a new house. Keep growing - but not weeds, Marianne Binetti
