saving geraniums over the winter
I bring geraniums into the house to save through the winter. I have four that are bushel basket size. I will cut them back and then put into pots. Do they do better to be in as small as pot as possible, or is it OK to put into a larger pot where the roots have lots of room?

Great question - in my experience geraniums like to be pot bound and do best in a smaller pot for overwintering as they are less likely to suffer from root rot. Some gardeners can even overwinter geraniums by uprooting them and hanging them from the garage rafters. Keeping them cool, dry and dormant over winter is the key. Repot and add sunlight in late spring. Keep growing, Marianne Binetti
