Schrubs for Zone 9

I want to border my patio with shrubs, was looking at Honeysuckle. Haven’t found any definitive info on Honeysuckle for Zone 9. Can you tell me if Honeysuckle can tolerate the heat in the desert. And if not what scrub would you suggest would work?? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I would not recommend Honeysuckle for desert climates as heat gives it mildew and other disease problems. Instead use a heat tolerant shrub such as bougainvillea, yellow trumpet vine,  lantana  or any of the drought resistant yucca, sedums or succulents.  Stay cool and Keep Growing, Marianne Binetti
