Osmocote on perennials
I live in zone 9 in California. I just purchased Osmocote indoor/outdoor. I read on your website that it’s for annuals and pots…so I shouldn’t use it on my perennials? Is it good for both flowering and no flowering plants? Can it be applied in this zone in mid-April. Thank you so much in helping sort out my confusion. Sylvia Nixon

Great questions. Osmocote is excellent for perennials as well as roses, veggies and houseplants. It releases the nutrients slowly so you don't have to worry about applying it at the perfect time of year or overfeeding. It is good for both flowering and non flowering plants and using it in mid-April is a great time for your plants in California. You are going to enjoy some happy perennials this summer.
