A question today referenced wall o’waters. I have been growing tomatoes on my patio with great success using mini “greenhouses” of bubblewrap for several years. I set my plants out in early MAY (unless it’s a particularly cold year) on our south-facing patio that gets morning and late afternoon sun. I plant the tomatoes in very large black pots, mixing bonemeal into the bottom of the hole, and put bamboo stakes around inside the edges of the pot. I then wrap bubble wrap all around, going a few inches down over the pot itself, securing it with string both below the edge of the pot and around the upper edge around the stakes. I also take a piece of bubble wrap and punch holes to go over the stakes, making a “roof”. On sunny days, I take off the top, remove the upper string, and fold back the wrap to give the plant air and sunshine. On cloudy, but not rainy, days, I leave them as is. On rainy days, I pull the pots under the eaves. Right now, my two plants are about 2-1/2′ high, with 4 sets of flowers, a
